Make the cutest DIY Easter Peeps Wall Decor in 30 minutes! Okay, an hour if the kids help 🙂 These are about 14″ tall, but you can make them in whatever size, or colors fit your Easter decorations. Super simple and on a budget!
I love using things I already have when I craft so for this easy DIY all you need is…
DIY Easter Peeps material
- paint + brushes
- some kind of rope/twine
- hot glue gun + glue
- big bowl ( for bottom )
- Smaller bowl ( for the head )
- paper for ear template
- scissors/razor knife
Prep tip- Make sure your body bowl and your head bowl look balanced.
Prep tip- Make sure that you have enough cardboard to do 4 bunnies by using the body bowl for the measurement. If you don’t have enough space consider using a smaller body and head bowl.
Trace your body bowl four times, trace the head bowl four times. Use paper to draw an ear and cut out to use as a template for all the ears. Simple flip the template over when doing the opposite ear on each bunny.
Paint your DIY Easter Peeps. I used two or three quick coats because I added a bit of water to make the paint spread better on the cardboard. Then let dry.
Cut out bunnies. ( Warning: This part sucks. Cutting cardboard always sucks ) Use a razor knife to cut off large chunks and strong scissors for curves.
Using the rope/twine and hot glue, follow the outline of your bunny to create a finished look.
Now it’s time to add the details if you choose. I used a piece of my rope to make a bow and used smaller white twine I had to secure that, then hot glued it to my pink peep.
You can add the eyes or other details if you want. Between me and you everything I put eyes on turns evil so I stick with simple details 🙂
After Thoughts – DIY Easter Peeps
These DIY Easter Peeps were super simple and took us about an hour with the kids doing 3 coats of paint. The hot gluing went really quick and I cannot get enough of their cuteness!
I hope you make your own peeps for your DIY Easter decorations and if you do share them with me!
